For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:2
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:2
Like a heavy shroud darkness has descended upon the earth and its inhabitants blinding men from the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the past few decades with the emergence of electronic gadgetry and the world-wide web the mind of man has been darkened to the things of God.
Even in the past fifty years TV shows, once quite wholesome and uplifting have become dark and foreboding. From family entertainment to pure blood and guts, the media has not hidden anything from the eyes of man. Sex, murder, rape and millions of acts of violence have passed across the screens of TV and the computer, and now with the release of hand held electronic equipment, filth is available 24/7.
More media, less Word, more filth, much less spiritual light entering the minds of a generation of children raised in a virtual world of non-reality, devoid of any light or truth. Even their cartoons are filled with demonic characters and hideous creatures of all kinds. Addicted to video games and porn at a young age their minds are poisoned and their hearts are cold as ice. Not knowing how to deal with the pressures of everyday life even ten year olds are committing suicide.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved, and for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. II Thessalonians 2:9-11
A DIFFERENT GOSPEL
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. Galatians 1:6,7
For two thousand years false prophets, apostles and preachers have tried to pervert, distort and dilute the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. In this day of consumer driven, seeker friendly, pastor dominated, mega churches the gospel has been altered to satisfy the masses of clean white middle-class tithers. Sad but true, most churches are ruled by overhead and will entertain rather than preach the Word of God so that people can be transformed by its power.
The devil has successfully rendered the church powerless because men have compromised for money, pride and greed rather than a passion for souls. The word clearly states not to allow unbelievers into the assembly of believers, but we have spread our legs to the world filling the church with the lost and greatly dimming the light of God. Darkness has flooded the assembly of the righteous bringing death to a once brilliant beacon of light.
The apostle Paul warned the church at Corinth to beware of false apostles preaching another Jesus and another gospel, I thought we only had one! Paul was fearful that their minds were being led astray from the simplicity of the true gospel of Christ. Paul gave the church of Galatia a much more severe warning that whoever preached a different gospel was to be accursed.
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. II Corinthians 11:13-15
ARISE AND SHINE
Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1
Human torches lit with the brilliant glow of the Holy Spirit's light to illuminate the world with the glorious gospel of Christ. The church must arise from its slumber and become the salt and light that a lost and dying world desperately need.
By allowing the Holy Spirit to fill our vessels with the fresh oil of His presence we can light up a darkened world. We don't need more programs or big name evangelists, we need the power and presence of God to illuminate the minds and hearts of the lost. No more entertainment, no more meaningless religious rituals, people need light that leads to real spiritual life!
We, the holy priesthood of God have been given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven that unlock all the power and mysteries of His presence to be used in this last great harvest of souls. All power and authority have been given to us as ambassadors of the heavenly realm. Jesus told His disciples to go and make more disciples, not stay and play religious games, but to shine their light throughout a world of darkness!
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven." Matthew 5:14-16
