"Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?" Psalm 56:3-4
Man has no power over us; the worst he can do to a believer is kill us! But the devil can make you believe he has something over you because, like every other unclean spirit, they are liars! But the believer wages war in the Spirit, not the flesh.
Spirits enter us when they have an open door caused by something we did or by a curse that we inherited from our unfaithful ancestors. Fear attacks everyone; it is no respecter of persons, but if we react to the attack, we can resist its access to our lives! As I said before in the previous message, we must discipline ourselves to take every thought captive and reject anything that is not of God!
God promises that He will help us; He is our shield and our Defender against the attacks of the enemy! As we war with our adversaries, keep your heavenly Father close and converse with Him always, asking for His help!
For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ Isaiah 41:13
FEAR ENTERED THE GARDEN
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" So, he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself. Genesis 3:9-10
The Garden of Eden was a place of peace and blessing to Adam and Eve. There were no demons, no fear, and no enemies! They were commanded not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and they were given free will to choose for themselves, even to disobey God!
Lucifer, God's angelic son, filled with pride, rebelled in Heaven, and Michael and his angels threw him out along with one third of the angelic host! Filled with hate for God and His creation, he landed in the garden and tempted Adam and Eve to eat from the forbidden tree! Keep in mind, Satan cannot make you do anything; he can only tempt you.
Once they disobeyed, fear came upon them, remember one third of the angels were with Satan, not demons, but principalities, powers, and authorities. Fear is a principality, a prince over a territory-US! From this fateful day, a curse of fear came crashing down the bloodlines of all mankind, and with it hundreds of other curses, sickness, and disease!
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. Romans 8:14-17
THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." I John 4:18
Perfect love is a perfect relationship with God and the belief that He is your everything! Your trust, your faith, and your provision are all in His faithfulness to provide! His word to us is to trust in Him with all of our hearts.
Fear is the opposite of faith, the enemy of all belief in God. When you were a child, did you have faith that your earthly father would take care of you? That is the same faith we are to have in our heavenly Father, who cannot lie and has promised to take care of us!
If you are struggling with fear, anxiety, or depression caused by fear, do this: Repent of unbelief, ask for forgiveness for your unfaithful ancestors, and break the curses that have come down your bloodline. If you have a certain stronghold of fear in your life, bind it, confess what it is, and ask God to forgive you and command it out of your life in Jesus' name!
"And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8
