All who hate me whisper together against me; against me they devise my hurt. “An evil disease,” they say, “clings to him, and now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.” Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me. Psalm 41:7-9

I know what this is like, and in a recent message, I explained that a trusted friend I had known for over sixty years accused me of committing adultery with his wife, which never happened! The lady in question has been dead for years, but he decides to accuse me now out of the clear blue, even though I have been with him many times since her death, and he never mentioned it!

I am writing about this to get it out of my heart and allow God to heal me before it becomes an inner wound. It was like a good friend died, and although by faith I forgave him, I know the relationship could never continue. This was such a surprise when he messaged my ex-wife and my daughter and accused me, that it nearly knocked me off my feet!

There were many other lies he told my daughter, which really hurt her, and the enemy has had a field day tormenting me with it! I believe this was a diabolical scheme of the enemy because I am having several books published, and one of them is on deliverance. My wife and I have prayed for this man and asked God to save him and set him free. He was the first person I witnessed to the day after I was saved 45 years ago!

But You, O Lord, be merciful to me, and raise me up, that I may repay them. By this, I know that You are well pleased with me, because my enemy does not triumph over me. As for me, You uphold me in my integrity and set me before Your face forever. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen. Psalm 41:10-13

by Timothy Laughlin Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast (firm, immovable and faithful) spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Psalm 51:10-13 Is it really possible to have a pure and clean heart, even when you have committed adultery and murder? The answer is a resounding, yes! Through confession, acknowledgment, and repentance, God will wash your sins away and remove them from as far as the east is from the west! He will renew your relationship with Him and restore your faith and joy in your salvation. Fear, doubt, and unbelief will leave, and peace will cover your spirit, soul, and body. The hole in your heart will be closed and filled with Holy Spirit presence! His powerful anointing will return, and sinners will be saved! David repented of his sins, and God forgave him and set him free from his transgressions and iniquities. Although God forgives us, we must remember that the consequences of our sins continue to follow us even though we repent. David suffered greatly during the rest of his life. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, you will not despise.
