Then the Lord sent Nathan the prophet to David, and he came to him. II Samuel 12:1

David was living the good life, no worries, new wife, new life and new baby. Any thoughts of his adulterous affair and the cold-blooded murder of Bathsheba's husband, Uriah were hidden deep within his heart being totally justified!

Nathan came to David telling him of two men, one rich and the other poor. The rich man had many flocks of sheep, but the poor man had only one ewe lamb, a pet to he and his children being raised in their home. One night a traveler came to the rich man's home, but he refused to take one of his many sheep and serve it, instead, he took the poor man's only ewe lamb and prepared it for his guest.

David's anger was greatly aroused against the man, and he said to Nathan, "As the Lord lives, the man who has done this shall surely die!" Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man!"

"Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, you have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the people of Ammon. I Samuel 11:9
