Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him. Proverbs 22:15

My first real trial in residential care on our farm was a young lady sent to us by her parents, who were elders in our home church. The girl was adopted, very rebellious, and obviously demonized. One day, I took her with me to the store and, on the way, asked about her life and what was going on with her.

All of a sudden, at 60 MPH on the highway, she grabbed the wheel and tried to run us off the road! I immediately straightened the car out and resumed our journey back to the house. Being a juvenile, I had not dealt with deliverance, so I took off my western belt and gave her a good whipping! Afterwards, I figured all was lost, and I would be deemed a child abuser, but her dad was ecstatic when I told him, and the girl grew up to be a fine young lady and mother!

The devil hates discipline and loves kids who are rebellious and out of control, like many today who have never had a good old-fashioned butt whoopin! When I was in high school, our vice principal and several coaches would whip us with a paddle with holes in it, and boy, it stung, but it was a very valuable tool of deliverance!

Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod and deliver his soul from hell. Proverbs 23:13-14

by Timothy Laughlin Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast (firm, immovable and faithful) spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Psalm 51:10-13 Is it really possible to have a pure and clean heart, even when you have committed adultery and murder? The answer is a resounding, yes! Through confession, acknowledgment, and repentance, God will wash your sins away and remove them from as far as the east is from the west! He will renew your relationship with Him and restore your faith and joy in your salvation. Fear, doubt, and unbelief will leave, and peace will cover your spirit, soul, and body. The hole in your heart will be closed and filled with Holy Spirit presence! His powerful anointing will return, and sinners will be saved! David repented of his sins, and God forgave him and set him free from his transgressions and iniquities. Although God forgives us, we must remember that the consequences of our sins continue to follow us even though we repent. David suffered greatly during the rest of his life. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, you will not despise.
