At night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, "Go stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life." Acts 5:19,20
The high priest and all who were with him threw Peter and the apostles in jail for preaching the word, but an angel released them and told them to go to the temple and preach. Brought before the high priest and the council they said they strictly told them not to preach!
Peter told him that they ought to obey God rather than men! Peter then rebuked them and accused them of murdering the Lord Jesus and that they were witnesses to these things and also the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.
Today's church ought to speak out and preach the gospel like the apostles, but in most cases, they are afraid and those who do preach usually preach sugar-coated coated mushy little sermonettes to please the crowds who ooh and ahh over their messages!
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. (Anointed One) Acts 5:42
