How the faithful city has become a harlot! It was full of justice; righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers. Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water. Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves; everyone loves bribes and follows after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, nor does the cause of the widow come before them. Isaiah 1:21-23

Isaiah's prophecy to Israel is as good today as it was in his time! The church today, for the most part, has prostituted itself, chasing after rewards and loving everything but God! Superstar preachers flying in their private jets and spreading a foreign gospel to gain more lovers!
No longer a faithful city on a hill, it has sunk into the depths of promiscuity. What would Jesus say? Better yet, what would Jesus do to most of our profit-driven storefront churches? Remember what He did to the money changers when, in front of the temple, they were doing business and not worship! I hate to think what He would do in many of our so-called worship services, filled with black smoke and loud music!
The true church of the Lord Jesus Christ is meant to be a replica of Him in the earth. An assembly of Spirit-filled, sold-out disciples of Christ! As the Lord Jesus ascended to the very throne of God, He sent His Holy Spirit back on His faithful followers to continue His ministry here on earth!
Therefore, the Lord says, the LORD of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, “Ah, I will rid Myself of My adversaries and take vengeance on My enemies. I will turn My hand against you, and thoroughly purge away your dross, and take away all your alloy. I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.” Isaiah 1:24-26
