The things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and the table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? I Corinthians 10:20,21

Think of drinking a cup as taking something into your body, or doing something that God hates, such as immorality, pride, greed, drunkenness, or drugs, etc.! Now think of drinking the cup of the Lord while doing the thing or things I mentioned!

That would be drinking the cup of demons and becoming sharers in demons, taken into your body. In the church, people who walk in sin and also go to church are called fence riders, one foot in the world and one in the church. Years ago, I was called to the home of a man who was a fence rider, lying on the floor and being thrown up into the air by a demon; the man was demon-possessed.

A friend and I cast demons out of this man for hours until he was free, and hopefully after that, he didn't drink of the cup of demons! It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Hebrews 10:26-30
