Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. Psalm 51:14
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. Psalm 51:14
David had a guilty conscience for killing an innocent man that allowed him to take his wife and nullify his adulterous affair with her, or so he thought! Murder is a serious offense in the eyes of God, punishable by death according to God's word and men.
Only God can deliver a man who has committed murder and take the guilt and shame out of his heart. When Nathan delivered God's Message about the rich man taking his servant's pet lamb and serving it up for his quest David's blood boiled but when Nathan said, "You are the man!" it pierced his heart with conviction and God's judgment, "Guilty!"
David cried out for deliverance of the guilt of his grave transgression against his most honorable warrior, Uriah. That feeling in his heart for the lamb became even worse when God revealed that the lamb was Uriah!
"You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife." Exodus 20:13-17
