I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust." Psalm 91:2

We as believers are at war with the powers of darkness and even though we have weapons and armor, we also have a fortress to protect us from the onslaught of our enemies! God is our fortress of protection, a place to go when under attack!

Actually, we are under the umbrella of His protection all of the time, even when we are at rest. The danger comes when we move out from His shadow (covering of His anointing) and go it alone! The Way of Life is to walk the paths of God led by His Spirit but there are many detours and roadblocks along the way!

Sheep don't do well without a shepherd to lead them and guide them. The late Phillip Keller, one of my favorite authors tells of a time when he was a shepherd in South Africa and had a ewe lamb who would lead her lambs to the edge of a cliff on the ocean and they would jump the fence putting them in danger. He finally had to break her leg to stop her and from that time on he carried her.

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. ''Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matthew 7:13,14
