Sound familiar because this brood of devils have been doing this for thousands of years because Israel has refused to eradicate their enemies. Today Israel is battling with Hamas, relatives of the Canaanite nations of old! (Palestine-Philistine)
David was distressed, his men wanted to stone him, and it seemed that it couldn't get any worse! Ever had a day like that? Imagine losing your family and all that you possessed taken captive by a band of murdering barbarians. Being a man of prayer and a mighty warrior David enquired of the Lord if he should pursue his enemies and the Lord answered, "Pursue!"
David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day and not a man of them escaped except 400 young men and there was a great victory and relief that God had kept His promise that they would recover all!
David had recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives, and nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all. I Samuel 30:18,19
