I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. “But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels. Psalm 81:10-12

The people of God, the children of Israel, were held in bondage for over 400 years, and God heard their cries and sent Moses, a type of Christ, to deliver them. As the God of the universe delivered them, He also delivers us!

Many times, when God saves someone, He calls them out of whatever job or profession they are in so that He can teach them to trust Him. So, it was with Israel, and so it was with me. God led Israel into the wilderness, and He led me to a graveyard where He asked me who I was going to serve, Him or the world? I chose Him, and immediately my life was in His hands.

When you have been providing for yourself for years, and all of a sudden, you are trusting Someone you can't see or hear, it can be a very scary thing! The story of Israel's journey in the wilderness is for us who He has called so that we don't become stiff-necked and rebellious like them! I can testify today, after 45 years, that Jesus Christ is trustworthy, and He has never let me down!

“Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries. The haters of the Lord would pretend submission to Him, but their fate would endure forever. He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat, and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.” Psalm 81:13-16
