God who cannot lie keeps His promises and His covenant even though we try but usually don't succeed in doing so. Praise be to God we are under a new covenant, written in the Savior's blood that has saved us and secured our eternal inheritance.
There are many covenants throughout the Old Testament where God gave His word to His servants but unlike these, we as His disciples have been given grace to uphold our end of the bargain so to speak. In our case, His grace is sufficient for us to remain in His favor and mercy.
Our salvation does not depend upon our good works or deeds done to try and please God, our eternal inheritance depends upon His grace and His unmerited favor upon those who would believe in Jesus!
For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
