For the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up and it shall be brought low, upon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan; upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up; upon every high tower, and upon every fortified wall; upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all the beautiful sloops. The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day, but the idols He shall utterly abolish. Isaiah 2:12-18

Prophets consistently portray The Day of the Lord as judgment on sin and nations, emphasizing divine justice and accountability. Themes of The Day of the Lord

  • Judgment: A time when God confronts evil and injustice.
  • Suddenness: Often compared to a thief arriving unexpectedly.
  • Cosmic signs: Darkness, fire, shaking of the heavens.
  • Hope for the faithful: Deliverance and salvation for those who call on the Lord (Joel 2:32).
  • Call to readiness: Believers are urged to watch, repent, and live righteously.
These passages collectively portray The Day of the Lord as a decisive moment of divine intervention in history.

If you are pre-tribulation, the saints are taken up in what is called the Rapture to meet the Lord in the air! Then seven years of Divine judgment begin to ravage the earth and those who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ. The signs are here for this horrible event to begin, and that which Jesus prophesied has begun. If you don't know the Lord, now is the time to repent and submit yourself under His lordship!

They shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, from the terror of the LORD, and the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake the earth mightily. In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which they made, each for himself to worship, to the moles and bats, to go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the crags of the rugged rocks, from the terror of the LORD, and the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake the earth mightily. Isaiah 2:19-21
