When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all in one accord in one place. Then there appeared to them tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. The new body of Christ together were all filled with the Holy Spirit and the first gift that appeared was the gift of tongues! This is the very first act and evidence of being baptized inthe Holy Spirit as they went outside speaking in other languages of those from other lands.
To those who were visiting from out of town and hearing these strange people speaking in their language was a miraculous event indeed and then Peter stood up with the apostles and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ with convicting power and the anointing of the Spirit and his Message brought them to repentance!
This is the ministry of the body of Christ, to walk in power and anointing, preaching andmaking disciples of those who would obey the gospel of Christ! This was the beginning of a new era of ministry for a group of sold-out Spirit filled band of brothers and sisters who obeyed the "Great Commission!"
"This Jesus God raised up, of which we are all witnesses. "Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear." Acts 2:32,33
