Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. Proverbs 3:25-26
Fear is the enemy of faith; it comes to shake your confidence in the Lord by getting you to doubt God's power and ability to act in your favor. You get a bad report from a doctor, and sudden fear shows you a horror movie of things that could happen to you!
Goliath was a giant of a man, armed to the teeth and trained for war from his youth. David, on the other hand, was a skinny kid with a sling and five stones, but his faith was in God! The giant hurled abuse and tried to weaken David's resolve, but his faith was aimed at Goliath's forehead, where the stone hit him, and he fell like a giant oak!
David immediately cut off the giant's head, and Israel's enemies scattered. He then looked for Goliath's four brothers because he had four more stones; that's the faith God has given us to have victory over our enemy, fear!
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7
