Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (war) with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (war) with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4
We as believers are the bride of Christ, a woman of great beauty and grace to her husband, Jesus. It's hard for men to call themselves a bride, but in the Spirit, we are!
Satan, on the other hand, is a switch-hitter; in other words, he can come as a beautiful woman or a handsome man, whatever it takes to seduce someone! For eons, he has drawn believers away from their relationship with God. Today, more than ever, thanks to the media and the internet, there are numerous things that not only capture your attention but also take your heart!
Many of the things that draw us away look seemingly harmless, but they take up all your time, and before long, you drift into the sea of complacency! When the world and the things of the world become your friend and lover, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life steal your soul!
Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:7-10
