Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah (pause) Psalm 3:1-2

We have no idea how many of the things that happen to us are caused by attacks of our enemies! As the scripture states, "Many voices are lying to us, saying there is no help, trying to discourage us and bring fear and doubt upon us!"

This is why we must take every thought captive and cast down these vain imaginations and evil lies that weaken our resolve, causing them to defeat us in our battle against them. Like roaring lions hiding in the bush, they wait until we are weak and hopeless, and then they attack. The powers of darkness are masters of subterfuge (deception) and the ability to evade or conceal.

God gave us spiritual armor and weapons of war to battle these devils, and as we learn to fight in the spirit, the armor grows upon our spiritual bodies, and like working out, the more we use them, the stronger we become, giving us an advantage over them in our endeavor to claim victory in Jesus!

But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah (pause) Psalm 3:3-4

by Timothy Laughlin Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast (firm, immovable and faithful) spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Psalm 51:10-13 Is it really possible to have a pure and clean heart, even when you have committed adultery and murder? The answer is a resounding, yes! Through confession, acknowledgment, and repentance, God will wash your sins away and remove them from as far as the east is from the west! He will renew your relationship with Him and restore your faith and joy in your salvation. Fear, doubt, and unbelief will leave, and peace will cover your spirit, soul, and body. The hole in your heart will be closed and filled with Holy Spirit presence! His powerful anointing will return, and sinners will be saved! David repented of his sins, and God forgave him and set him free from his transgressions and iniquities. Although God forgives us, we must remember that the consequences of our sins continue to follow us even though we repent. David suffered greatly during the rest of his life. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, you will not despise.
