Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. II Corinthians 4:2-4

The gospel is veiled to those who are lost; they are blind and cannot find the Way on their own. I had never known anyone who was blind until one day I was playing golf with my friend and pastor when, approaching the last hole, he asked me, "Where is the green?" He couldn't see it; he was going blind, and today he is totally blind.

Think about how hard life could be for a blind person. I struggle to get back to bed from the bathroom, much less find my socks and hope they are the same color. Being blind is a great hindrance to those afflicted with it. Now think about the lost man who walks in spiritual darkness, we've all been there, we couldn't find Heaven with both hands.

We are God's seeing-eye dogs who are called to guide the blind to Jesus and walk them through the gospel of their salvation! The Way is narrow and dangerous for the lost, almost impossible, but by the grace of God, we can guide them through the gate to eternal life!

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. II Corinthians 4:5,6
