But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy but admonish him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3:13-15

There are two reasons that someone grows weary of doing good: one, they are trying to do good works to please God in the flesh, and two, they are out of God’s will!

We as believers are not under law, but we can load up our hearts and minds trying to keep it. The law is fulfilled by two commands: Love God, and your neighbor. If you are struggling with “Thou shalt nots” ringing in your ears and condemnation that you are not doing enough for God? “Relax!” You are not walking in the Spirit; you are walking in the flesh!

When one is walking in the Spirit, he is being led to fulfill whatever the Spirit is leading him to do! Whenever King David would be challenged by his enemies, he would ask God, “Should I engage or not?” We would do well to do the same!

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. The salutation of Paul and (2 Timothy) with my own hand, which is a sign in every epistle; so I write. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 2 Thessalonians 3:16-18
