Therefore, the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men. Isaiah 29:13

Jesus hates "Lip service." The Pharisees prayed long religious prayers filled with words of pride and self-indulgence. Today many of our churches lead people to Jesus, having them pray the "Sinner's prayer" as if mouthing a religious prayer would save someone's soul!

If a man is convicted of his sins and acknowledges them before the Lord, he will be saved. The thief on the cross rebuked his partner, acknowledged his sin to Jesus, and then said, "Lord, remember me when you come into Your kingdom." Jesus then said to him, "Today you will be with Me in paradise!"

The thief confessed that he was a sinner deserving of death and acknowledged Jesus as Lord and then asked to be remembered! When a man's heart is convicted, all he has to say is YES! The night I was saved, the man who shared the gospel with me asked me, "Do you believe God will save you tonight and I said, "Yes!"

Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.” Isaiah 29:14
