Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. Psalm 34:19-21

Life holds many afflictions along its path, and I have suffered through them for 78 years. Even when I was lost, God was there. I remember many of them. One day, I was riding my motorbike and ran an intersection right into an oncoming car!

I hit the fender right in front of the windshield, and as I was thrown over the hood, I remember saying, "Oh God!" I landed with my arm stretched out and sat up. My legs were bleeding; my arm was broken, but if I had hit the car a few seconds before, I would have been killed hitting the post. The driver of the car and some gas station attendants took me into the station, sat me down in the middle of the room, and continued their work.

After a while, I began to be in pain and asked when the ambulance would be there, and they said, "You want an ambulance?" UGH, it just wasn't my day! Anyway, I survived, and I believe God had protected me as He was with me in the air as I flew over that car! I am sure you have had many things happen to you, too, and God intervened on your behalf! He is an awesome God!

The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. Psalm 34:22

by Timothy Laughlin Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast (firm, immovable and faithful) spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Psalm 51:10-13 Is it really possible to have a pure and clean heart, even when you have committed adultery and murder? The answer is a resounding, yes! Through confession, acknowledgment, and repentance, God will wash your sins away and remove them from as far as the east is from the west! He will renew your relationship with Him and restore your faith and joy in your salvation. Fear, doubt, and unbelief will leave, and peace will cover your spirit, soul, and body. The hole in your heart will be closed and filled with Holy Spirit presence! His powerful anointing will return, and sinners will be saved! David repented of his sins, and God forgave him and set him free from his transgressions and iniquities. Although God forgives us, we must remember that the consequences of our sins continue to follow us even though we repent. David suffered greatly during the rest of his life. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, you will not despise.
