Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit, there is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long. For day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me. My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah Psalm 32:1-4

When we hide our sin and keep silent about its presence, sickness can enter, and autoimmune diseases such as arthritis and other debilitating conditions can prevail in our bodies, even causing death.
If we confess our sins as the word states, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. For the believer, when we try to hide our sins and transgressions, God's heavy hand of conviction comes upon us, making it hard to continue practicing our willful disobedience.
According to Hebrews 10:26-31, there is no sacrifice for willful sin but a fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation (HELL)! In the Old Testament, picking up sticks on the Sabbath carried a death sentence, and even worse punishment today by trampling underfoot the Son of God and counting the sacrifice (the blood of Jesus) an unclean thing!
I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah Psalm 32:5
