I cried out to God with my voice— To God with my voice; and He gave ear to me. In the day of my trouble, I sought the Lord; my hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; my soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah, You hold my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak. I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, and my spirit makes diligent search. Psalm 77:1-6

Sound familiar, another test or trial to face, and it seems God is not around? It's funny how soon we forget His last miracle, or maybe a healing, and now here we are again! Like our school days, if we fail a test, we have to take it again; have we not learned?

This is why we journal, to remember the glorious works that He has done, so when we are tested again, we have a book of remembrance. God keeps a record, "The Lamb's Book of Life," and we must be glad so that He doesn't forget us! Praise God for His thoughts toward us (which, by the way, are more than can be counted!) and His everlasting favor and mercy!

Being tried and tested builds maturity and strengthens our resolve, the apostle Paul said: Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be favorable no more? Has His mercy ceased forever? Has His promise failed forevermore? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? And I said, “This is my anguish; but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.” I will remember the works of the Lord; surely, I will remember Your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all Your work and talk of Your deeds. Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God? You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples.
Selah, Psalm 77:7-14
