There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. I Corinthians 12:4-7

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. I Corinthians 12:4-7

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to each one in the body, not just one, but everyone receives and is expected to use it to edify us all! When God created man, He didn't put one organ in the body or the body couldn't function, no, He put all of the necessary organs in so that the body would be complete.

Today however the body is led by a pastor and not by Jesus who is the Head. The problem is the rest of the body is left without time to exercise their gift in the assembly and so the others miss out on all the other gifts. Tradition has taught us to believe that a single man is to be the only one who can exercise his gift leaving the rest without receiving the benefits of all the other gifts.

The whole body needs to use their gift to edify everyone and receive the blessing of the Lord that He has given us. Each of us has something to give in the assembly and to withhold our gift is to deprive others in the body!

If the whole body were an eye (I) where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. I Corinthians 12:17-20
