"I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your betrothal when you went after Me in the wilderness in a land not sown, Israel was holiness to the Lord, the first fruit of His increase." Jeremiah 2:2,3

"I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your betrothal when you went after Me in the wilderness in a land not sown, Israel was holiness to the Lord, the first fruit of His increase." Jeremiah 2:2,3

Israel was God's first love with the hope of a bride to love Him with all her heart but after years of trial and war, she fell away from Him and went her own way! She played the harlot and went after other lovers until God's anger raged and He made a new plan, a new way, and a new covenant for His bride.

Remember your salvation experience when you loved the Lord with all of your heart and soul? It was a honeymoon with your heavenly Husband, a time of great emotion and grace that surrounded you with His favor. This is what God longed for, a bride who would give Him her heart and her very soul.

At the end of Israel's Devotion to God with a priesthood who were so legalistic that they couldn't walk in love toward the Most High anymore and all they could do was spout the law out of their mouth, but inwardly they were lawless!

But you trusted in your own beauty and played the harlot because of your fame, and poured out your harlotry on everyone passing by who would have it. Ezekiel 16:15
