A just cause indeed for Jabez to ask for these things to accompany him through his life. To continually bless him and to enlarge his territory in all things, in land, in prosperity and in relationships with man and God.
When God's hand is with us who can injure us or defeat us, if God is with us who can be against us! God's hand is our protection and our shield against our enemies. Imagine a child with his father's hand on his head, no one is going to molest him or harm him like those who dwell under the shadow of the Almighty in Psalm 91:1.
Keep us from evil, from temptation and from the ungodly who continually seek evil things and draw in the unsuspecting. When we commit evil, we cause pain for others and damage our relationships.
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Psalm 91:9,10
