"But when the Helper (Parakletos) comes whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. "And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning." John 15:26,27

The term "paraklétos" is used in the New Testament to describe someone who is called to aid, support, or intercede on behalf of another. In a legal context, it refers to an advocate or legal assistant.
This is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, sent to help us, lead us, and speak to us, opening our eyes to the revelation of God's word. Without His guidance, we would walk in darkness unable to discern good from evil! This is why we must be baptized in His Spirit to receive the anointing that empowers us.
The Spirit also convicts us of sin, and He connects with our human conscience when we are saved, leading us to repent and receive forgiveness from the Lord Jesus. It is imperative that we receive His anointing as followers of Christ in order to be more than conquerors in this life.
"When He, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." John 16:13
