Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

The English word faith is used to translate the Greek word pistis which means trust, confidence, assurance, and belief. Hebrews 11:1 describes pistis as faith: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, so faith and hope are synonymous.

The Greek noun translated as hope is elpis and means the desire for future good. Our confession of our hope should not be, I hope God shows up, but my hope is faith in the One who keeps His promise!

When we believe God to fulfill His promise we must not doubt or waver but stand and believe even though He may tarry, wait because He is always faithful! God always keeps His promises!

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
