Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things, put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Colossians 3:12-15

Sometimes it's hard to imagine that we, as believers, are the chosen of God, holy and loved by Him! Especially when we are going through a tough time, or it seems He is nowhere to be found!
It's true, He loves us more than we can ever know on this earth, and He has commanded us to love others as much as He loves us! Jesus told His disciples that in the last days, because of lawlessness, most people's love would grow cold, and so it has, but we must overcome this, and He said we are to love even our enemies.
This week, a young lady from Ukraine got on a subway, sat down, and all of a sudden, the guy behind her stood up and stabbed her to death for no reason! I'm sorry I can't find it in myself to love him, much less forgive him for this demonic act of murder. Jesus died for him, just as He died for us, so we must also put on forgiveness.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:16-17
