When one is born-again his financial situation changes, no longer provided by the world, his bank account is in Heaven. The above-mentioned scripture says to sell what we have and give and giving opens our heavenly account.
Give and you shall receive as the scripture advises, and as we are led by the Spirit we give according to His leading. Our treasure is now stored in Heaven safe from theft and given out as it is needed. Normally as if things of the Spirit are normal God gives a 10% return on our giving, not that we give to get but it is a blessing that our heavenly Banker pays us back plus interest! (Sometimes the interest goes to a 100-fold return)
Although the "Prosperity gospel" has been stretched to the max, nonetheless it is a fact that God blesses Spirit-led giving! But there is a warning in I Timothy 6:9,10 that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil for which some have strayed from the faith in their greed!
"Give, and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. (human chest) For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." Luke 6:38
