My son, pay attention to my wisdom; Lend your ear to my understanding,
that you may preserve discretion, and your lips may keep knowledge.
For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death; her steps lay hold of hell. Lest you ponder her path of life-- Her ways are unstable; you do not know them. Proverbs 5:1-6
Samson was called as a Nazarite, an Israelite consecrated to the service of God, under vows to abstain from alcohol, avoid contact with the dead, and he could not cut his hair. One of the strongest men who ever lived, his character never caught up with his strength.
Called to destroy and judge the Philistines, Samson disobeyed his parents, married a Philistine woman, defiled his parents by giving them honey from a corpse, and went with harlots. He finally met his match when he fell in love with a woman named Delilah, who tricked him into telling her where his great strength lies.
Once she heard that his strength was his hair, she called the Philistines in and cut off his hair, leaving him blind and weak like any other man. Enslaved, blind, and led to the arena to make sport of him, he had a young lad lead him between the two pillars that held up the roof of the arena, and with one last burst of strength, he pulled down the arena, killing the Philistines and himself.
Therefore, hear me now, my children, and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Remove your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house, lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel one. Lest aliens be filled with your wealth, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner. Proverbs 5:7-10
