After casting out a demon from a slave girl who was possessed, Paul and Silas were jailed for ruining her master's livelihood! At midnight, they were singing and praising God when an earthquake shook the prison and the doors opened, and they were loosed!
The jailer woke up and saw that the prison was open and drew his sword to kill himself, but Paul told him no one had escaped, so he fell down before them, asking what he must do to be saved. Peter told him to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.
Then they spoke the word of the Lord to the jailer and all his household, and they were all saved and baptized! And when it was day, the magistrates sent the officers saying, "Let these men go."
So they went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed. Acts 16:40
