For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. I Thessalonians 4:3-5
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. I Thessalonians 4:3-5
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit, the very house of God, and He desires a pure and holy vessel to indwell. Immorality is all around us; we are surrounded by lustful thoughts, sights, and sounds daily.
Lust poisons the soul and dampens our spirits to the point that we are no longer holy vessels of the Lord. It is our mission to keep the house of God clean, even as you would clean your earthly home. We have to inventory our thought life and take captive lustful thoughts that strike our minds like flaming missiles!
If you are plagued with lust and the temptation to engage in immorality, cry out to God for deliverance and forgiveness, and the power of God will set you free. It is the most important thing you can do to purify your temple and allow the Holy Spirit to indwell you!
That no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore, he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit. I Thessalonians 4:6-8
