We represent the grain of wheat that Jesus is speaking of and unless we die to independent living, we will bear no fruit for the kingdom! After my salvation experience and subsequent water and Spirit baptism, I went back into the business world and got totally immersed in making money!
As I have shared before Jesus came to me and took me to my own funeral in a cemetery and called me into service in His kingdom. My business closed down and I went bankrupt and then followed Him on a 45-year journey as a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ! I admit there were some tough times, but God never let me down as He trained and equipped me for ministry!
Everyone who is called will suffer the excruciating pain of "death to self!" It is a mandatory command to die and follow! Jesus said that there are many called but few are chosen, actually everyone is called, but as we can see in the gospel very few show up for duty!
"If anyone does not abide (live and dwell) in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they (spirits) gather them and throw them into the fire, (Hell) and they are burned." John 15:6
