There have been false prophets and deceitful brethren for eons ever since the beginning of time who come to cloud the way of life and turn us aside from the right way to the broad road of destruction!
Jesus warned His disciples that in the last days there would be many false prophets and so this has come to pass. There are literally thousands of denominations, sects and cults around the world with many preaching and teaching doctrines of demons! There have also been false Christs and false Messiah's claiming they are the savior of all mankind!
America has spawned many of these charlatans who preach for money, promising great returns on the people's donations if they will support their so-called ministries! Lying, cheating, stealing, devils they turn people away from God to follow and worship them saying that they are the way to eternal life!
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. II Peter 2:1,2
