Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased (live humbly) and I know how to abound. (live in prosperity) Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Philippians 4:11,12

I believe God begins to train us before we are ever born again. I was 24 when my dad died and left me a millionaire with a manufacturing facility and 7-1/2 acres of industrial lease property. Already an alcoholic my older brother came in and I eventually sold the business to him and continued into a life of sex, drugs, and rock and roll!
Spoiled rotten I took the silver spoon out of my mouth and put it up my nose! It didn't take long to lose everything to a $2000.00 a week cocaine addiction and end up cutting scrap metal next to our family business. I didn't realize it was God working with me at the time, but He was beginning a work in me as the Potter works the clay! Once He had created a beautiful vessel, He smashed it and that is when He saved me!
Unaware of God's training in a scrap yard it later rendered me valuable knowledge that was useful in my walk with Him. In 44 years, two bankruptcies, a divorce, bladder cancer, and numerous times there was no money and selling coins to buy groceries I have finally learned to live both full and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:12
