Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, bound in affliction and irons— Because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most High, therefore He brought down their heart with labor; they fell, and there was none to help. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their chains in pieces. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the gates of bronze and (bronze represents judgment), cut the bars of iron in two. Psalm 107:10-16

This scripture illustrates deliverance, the power of God to dispel (cast out) demons because of rebellion! Demons are the judgment of God, and sin opens the door for them to enter and rob, kill, and destroy you!
Rebellion is the root of many sins, possibly all of them, because of disobedience to God's word. Breaking His commandments is rebellion, lying is rebellion, murder is rebellion, and so on and so on! His word is clear about sin and the consequences that come with it! The wages of sin is death!
Confession and repentance bring about deliverance and allow the mercy and grace of God to set one free from the bondage of sin and death! Once forgiveness comes forth, the demons can be cast out, and freedom will come.
Fools, because of their transgression and because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Theirsoul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distress. He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:17-20
