For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. II Corinthians 10:3-6

As human beings, we have no power against the devil, but as new creations in Christ, we are armed with powerful spiritual weapons and the anointing to utilize them. Our power comes from God to break strongholds in our lives and the lives of others.
Casting down arguments is like coming against the prosecution that accuses us in a trial. The devil is like an attorney trying to convince us that we are guilty, but we have been cleansed by the blood and are innocent of all sin and iniquity. The devil is a liar, and according to scripture, he is the father of lies. The battle is in our minds, and that is where we are first attacked.
Our minds must be inventoried, and our thoughts must be controlled lest sin captivate us and create a stronghold. It takes self-control to keep our minds free from lust, pride, and greed and not filled with the Word. We must be disciplined to devote our time and thoughts to God and to study and show ourselves approved to God!
This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck. I Timothy 1:18,19
