"Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not My will, but Yours be done." Luke 22:42
Jesus had taken communion with His disciples in the upper room and after they had celebrated the Passover He led them to the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus had received the cup of suffering given to Him by His Father that reversed all the curses of the past and set mankind free from their sin's!
The Greek word for Gethsemane means oil press, where Jesus would be pressed almost to death as His sweat turned to drops of blood. In the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve were tempted to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that would lead to their sin and subsequent expulsion from paradise.
The blood that Jesus bled in the garden reversed the curse that caused all of mankind to have to be saved and delivered from eternal damnation and freed them from their generational sins and transgressions.
And being in agony, He prayed for earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44
