With this scripture Peter preached to thousands just after God's Spirit was poured out on 120 disciples of the Lord. The last days had begun and many of Joel's prophecies were being fulfilled before those who had come to celebrate Pentecost.
The very first New Testament church had begun with the disciples of Jesus, born again and filled with the Holy Spirit they went out into the streets and began to interpret Peter's Message of the prophecy that spoke of their own Spirit baptism! What a miracle of God's grace to be a part of fulfilled prophecy at the beginning of a new era of power and grace!
As you read this Message know this, that the other half of Joel's Message is being fulfilled in our time. Many of the proceeding signs and wonders spoken of in the scripture have been displayed in the heavens in sight of us all!
"I will show wonders in Heaven above and signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness (solar eclipse) and the moon into blood (blood moon) before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord, and it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Joel 2:19-21
