You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Psalm 23:5
God prepared a table for Israel in the wilderness as their enemies looked on, millions were fed and given drink from the mighty hand of the Most High! Even their animals were fed, and they flourished in the desert with what would be today trainloads of food and millions of gallons of water daily!
The Lord has always been the believer's Shepherd, even a stiff necked and stubborn folk delivered from their enemies in Egypt brought down to the Red Sea and made to cross over on dry land in an amazing miracle of deliverance! Apart from the favor and provision of God Israel had no hope of survival in the wilderness.
We as believers today are anointed with His Spirit and our cups surely run over as our Shepherd takes care of us as He did with Israel, and He will never let us down even to the end of our natural lives. Praise God for His mercy on us endures forever!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6
