The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9
Peter is saying that the promise of His coming is imminent and that the heavens and the earth are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men!
God does not want anyone to perish but for everyone to come to repentance. The world is reeling out of control and mockers and scoffers are saying, "Where is the promise of His coming?" His mercy and grace are giving mankind time to turn away from their sins and iniquities and turn to Him in repentance!
The end of all things is at hand, if you have not given your life to Jesus, today is the day, in fact, today may be the last day! Don't waste His grace for you to come to Him, the time is near, and the days are few. Believe and repent before it's too late!
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. II Peter 3:10
