Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. Psalm 51:7-9
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. Psalm 51:7-9
Only the blood can wash away sin and David knew this as he cried out to be cleansed. For David it was the blood of bulls and goats but for us it is the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Because of his steadfast walk with the Lord and a heart for God he was forgiven and washed of his sins and although they were worthy of his death God granted a permanent stay of execution and David eventually died of old age. We would do well to take David's story to heart and follow his steps to forgiveness and deliverance when we sin.
There is nothing you have done that cannot be forgiven and because you belong to the Most High the blood of His Son Jesus is available to you. If you have sinned and are being convicted by the Holy Spirit, then cry out to Him who loves you and ask for His mercy to wash away your sins and cleanse you of all unrighteousness!
And according to the law almost all things are purified (cleansed) with blood, and without the shedding of blood there can be no remission (forgiveness) of sins. Hebrews 9:22
