The apostle Paul explains his thorn in the flesh as a weakness that would ultimately become strength because of the grace of God. So, when we are weak, we are strong! Our strength comes from God!
The apostle states that he took pleasure in infirmities and reproaches, needs and persecutions, and said, "When I am weak, I am strong." We too can take pleasure in the fact that God is the One who gives us the strength to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings. It's not easy rejoicing or taking pleasure in our trials and infirmities, but in time as we submit to our weakness God begins to strengthen us.
Count it all joy says the Lord! This is why we are peculiar people to a world steeped in sin and walking in darkness! We look strange but that is a sign that we are on the narrow road to glory!
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
