Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed, He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. Psalm 20:6
Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed, He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. Psalm 20:6
I've heard this quoted many times by preachers saying, "Thou shalt not touch God's anointed!" Many, I thought, were arrogant when I first heard it early in my walk with God, but it's true! David was convicted when he cut off a piece of Saul's robe, and even though Saul walked in rebellion, he was in a place of leadership for Israel.
We, as believers baptized in the Holy Spirit, are anointed and commissioned to serve in God's kingdom! God is our deliverer and our Savior who watches over us in all of our endeavors. When Saul disobeyed the Lord's command to destroy the Amalekites, and Samuel anointed David as the future king of Israel, Saul's anointing was taken up, and an evil spirit (demon) was sent to him from God to torment him!
As the "Royal Priesthood" of God, we are favored by Him and protected as we fight the good fight, and though we may fall, we shall arise to defeat our enemies! Praise be to God who forever protects His anointed!
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stand upright. Save, Lord, may the King answer us when we call. Psalm 20:7-9
