After the children of Israel saw all the signs and wonders done for their advantage and deliverance, they began a forty-year journey in unbelief! This is why I believe God calls Israel children!
It reminds me of the modern-day church who began with signs, wonders, miracles and power, but today ended up with unbelief and complacency. As tradition and doctrine was handed down through the ages, the church became self-absorbed with their own problems and needs and pastors became self-help gurus spending all their time with the flock, preaching ear tickling Messages of hope to keep them coming back!
Moses had just delivered Israel from the Egyptians, split the Red Sea and their enemies were drowned, they sang their victory song and then they came to the waters of Marah, and it was bitter, and they couldn't drink and so they complained in unbelief!
And the people complained against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" Exodus 15:24
