Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
Delight is defined as a high degree of gratification, or pleasure, which can cover a lot of ground, even bordering on lust! This is why God puts within us His good desires, and also in His perfect will for us.
However, in the beginning, Adam and Eve were approached by the serpent, Lucifer, who was expelled from Heaven and hated everything God created. Although God gave them a command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, when Eve saw that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she and Adam both ate!
King David also saw with his eyes a beautiful naked lady one night on his balcony, and he also allowed his desire to turn to lust, and it cost him dearly! If we delight ourselves with Him, our life will be one of peace and joy in the Lord!
Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken.” Isaiah 58:14
