Steps to freedom and victory: submit, resist, draw near to God, cleanse your hands and purify your heart! To submit to God is total surrender to His leading by laying down your life. Resisting the devil means you turn from his temptation and flee youthful lusts! When King David saw Bathsheba bathing, he should have done an about-face and he would have escaped the snare (trap) of the devil.
To draw near to God is to spend quality time with Him and live under His shadow as Psalm 91:1,2 states. For us to cleanse our hands and purify our hearts we are to confess our sins and repent of any unforgiveness or bitterness against anyone! To be double-minded is to pretend to love God but also love the world and that will leave you empty and deceived.
To become a true disciple and worshiper of the Most High one must follow these steps and give all of your heart, mind, and soul to God in a love relationship and love your neighbor as yourself!
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10
