Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? James 5:13,14
Every week we get requests for healing to send out on our prayer list and many are healed but some are not. Is healing for everyone? According to the Lord Jesus Christ, a resounding yes! Then why are some not healed?
Jesus dealt with every sin, sickness, infirmity and disease on the cross when He took it upon Himself to deliver us! Keep in mind when believing for your healing or deliverance that everyone Jesus prayed for was healed or set free from whatever ailed them, including death! One important thing to remember is all sickness involves sin, your sin, your ancestor's sin or Adam's sin that we have inherited, but nevertheless sin has a role to play in your healing.
There was no sickness or demons in Heaven or in the Garden of Eden until Satan showed up and deceived Adam and Eve leading them to disobey God, thus the curse traveled down the bloodlines of all mankind! So, this must be considered when praying for your healing, to confess your sins and the sins of your ancestors.
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16
CALL FOR THE ELDERS OF THE CHURCH
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14
To call for the elders of the church is to obey God's word to have them transfer what they have received from the Lord Jesus Christ when they were also anointed by His Spirit! This is not limited to just elders because anyone baptized in the Holy Spirit can lay hands on the sick and believe for one's healing.
The anointing oil is a symbol of the anointing of the Holy Spirit who is our healer. Throughout scripture from the time of the tabernacle in the wilderness anointing oil was used. Today it is a Divine agent of healing, commissioning and prayer. When one is anointed with oil it is as though the precious Holy Spirit is flowing through our bodies.
God has also provided the blood of His Son to heal our sicknesses, diseases and infirmities for from the garden to the cross He bled in seven places to heal and deliver us. If you are a believer, call out to God for the blood of the Lord Jesus shed for you and available by faith!
And He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness, by whose stripes (wounds) you were healed. I Peter 2:24
THIS SICKNESS IS NOT UNTO DEATH
Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. John 11:1
The sisters sent to Jesus, saying, "Lord, he whom you love is sick." Jesus wasn't anxious because He stayed where He was two more days before He went to the home of Lazarus. He was confident that He would heal His friend.
When He finally arrived it was too late, Lazarus was dead and buried, but that was not the end, Jesus didn't let that bother Him or shake His faith in who He was or in the power He possessed! Jesus told Mary and Martha to take Him to the tomb and when He arrived, He wept, and He said to them, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"
I have seen the dead raised because Jesus said that we who believe would do greater works because He ascended to the Father! Jesus told them to roll away the stone and He cried out, "Lazarus, come forth!" Lazarus came out bound with grave clothes and many believed in Jesus! The moral of this story is we are to believe even until and after death!
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25,26
